The sun put on its hat this weekend for Manchester’s answer to Glastonbury as the Blacka Hire team enjoyed something of a bus man’s holiday.
The Blackthorn Music Festival saw happy campers massed at Etherow Country Park near Stockport for a weekend of music from some of the region’s best up-and-coming bands.
Musical acts from across every musical genre brought a festival atmosphere to leafy Stockport, performing for families and fans over a fun-packed weekend. The fantastic line-up featured some of Manchester’s best kept-musical secrets, including indie favourites The Celadors, Matchtstickmen, Mowhawk Radio, Curtis Volp and more.
They were joined by tribute acts Viva la Coldplay and Ohasis, who topped the bill on Sunday night with an awesome set pumped full of the Gallagher brothers’ legendary swagger.
Thankfully, Manchester’s famously wet weather didn’t do too much to dampen spirits – at least not for the Blacka Hire team, who dusted off tents and wellington boots to muck in and oversee sound on the main stage.
Blacka Hire provided two PA systems, live and DJ music equipment and technical management staff.
