Manchester Carnival has brought Caribbean culture to the forefront, annually for over 40 years, and is the North West’s largest celebration of Caribbean music and carnival arts. A vibrant celebration of Caribbean music, dance, theatre and costume.
Taking place at Alexandra Park, the crowd enjoyed the infectious rhythms of song and dance as the carnival procession wound its way through the crowds with steel bands, floats with DJ’s, dance troupes with carnival queens and princesses, elaborate costumes and folklore characters.
Classic cuisine is served up from dozens of food and drink stalls, and there is also a heritage area hosting an exhibition honouring the roots of Manchester’s Caribbean families.
There was music across three stages, spanning everything from steel pan and soca bands to reggae, grime and RnB artists and DJs.
Blacka Hire Group sponsored the Pulse Arena Stage and provided a concert stage, PA sound, live music sound equipment, stage lighting and event technical management staff.
